It’s best to use the highest resolution possible. The lowest resolution you should use is 300 dpi or more.

Nikonians.org offers an excellent guide to resolution and print size, which you can access here.

What is the difference between saddle stitching and squareback?

Saddle stitching is an economical option that uses wire staples to attach folded sheets of paper together to create a booklet. Squareback stitching creates a sleeker, squared spine look that makes the magazine easy to stack and handle.
